The Closing Print live trading and financial blog during market hours.

Many of the winning stock picks from the IBD50 for this week, carry-over from a previous watchlist, showing signs of breaking out. In addition, several sectors looked poised to repeat their recent bullish performance and they repeat similar patterns. Watch XLF, XLV, XLY.

Here is a short video on the transports we are watching.

Semiconductors also made a strong impression last week, as July “tech” seasonality repeats again this year.

AMAT is again on the IBD50 list. Be sure to check the 60min trigger on this one, as a follow through seems highly likely. Note RSI is trending through 50 and MACD is about to cross. AMAT reports its earnings on August 17.

AMAT daily

Most of the semiconductors show similar patterns.

KLIC and KLAC (that’s funny) both show similar pattern

Note the volume on KLAC. The company is ranked number seven in this industry group, with AMAT ranked #1. The 60min charts are the tell all.

We’re also watching ATVI among other stocks on the IBD50 list, so be sure to watch the weekend video news letter before the opening bell. Just scroll to the end and skip the macro coverage.

ATVI shows RSI rising quickly, MACD turning with price and Stochastic pointing to higher prices in the short term.

ATVI daily

It’s the 60minute charts that have us excited (well kinda), like this one on ATVI that indicates we may see follow through this week. Most of the stocks covered this weekend show similar patterns.

ATVI 60min

ANGO, BBY, CNDS, FND, FOXF, MRCY, PGR, TSEM and YUM are additional candidates.

We’ll cover more during the LIVE session, so stay tuned.

Happy Monday and welcome to the new members,
