The Closing Print live trading and financial blog during market hours.

We run daily scans to help identify the next winning stock picks, before and after sectors tell us where capital is flowing. Today’s pocket-pivot scan points to interest in the healthcare, biotech and pharmaceuticals industry groups.

When the sectors continue to show buying, we follow their lead. Here are the results for the pocket pivot scan, which reveals unusual capital flow (i.e.; volume spikes). Most of these stocks hail from the healthcare industry.

After a nice consolidation, ESPR is breaking out. With biotech sectors (IBB, XBI) strong again today, look for this stock to follow through. Use the TD setup for precise entries, stops and exits.

ESPR

Coach (COH) also popped up on the scan. While is obviously from the retail sector, I did find it very strong considering the beating retail stocks have taken. Volume suggests institutions have been buying the stock. The tight Bollinger bands suggest a TTM Squeeze is setting up. Watch for this stock to make a move in the short term.

Healthcare XLV is strong this morning. Sub sectors XBI, IBB and IHE are also green. More than likely we will see another day of buying in this group, so we are laser focused on setups previously mentioned, as well as those in the scan above.

We are also keenly awaiting a more broad buying effort by institutions, therefore we would like to see continued buying in XLK and XLY as we saw on Wednesday.

We will be LIVE shortly. For more information and a strategy based approach to the markets, come trade with us “LIVE” at The Closing Print during market hours.

Happy Thursday,

Vinny
